Phases
Phase I (Basics)
Importance of basic basketball fundamental skills and enhancement of athletic performance. Repetition of exercises and drills facilitate learning of the following:
proper form and technique
core strength
jumping ability
body balance and agility
speed and quickness
The time commitment for Phase 1 - 2 hours.
Phase II (Conditioning)
Preparing the athlete to attain peak physical fitness and conditioning for the upcoming season. The time commitment for Phase 2 - 2 hours. These sessions involve the following conditioning and strength building activities:
. Endurance running
. Functional fitness
. Core strength and stabilization drills
. Plyometrics
. Speed & agility drills
. Interval training
Phase III (Shooting)
Emphasis on shooting form/technique and learning various offensive skills:
One on one moves
Use of picks and screens
Effective use of ball fakes/shot fakes
Creating an offensive identity
The time commitment for Phase 3 - 2 hours.
